Breonna Moffett👩🏾‍✈️

Breonna Moffett was from Savannah, Georgia. She was only 23 years old when she was killed Sunday in Jordan. She joined the US Army Reserve on April 29,2019, at the age of 17. She received many awards for her service, including the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal with “C’ Device, and Combat Action Badge.

Breonna Moffett was remembered by many people. Family, friends, and her church community mourned her loss. Important speakers at the ceremony included US Army Brig.Gen Noel Palmer, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, and savannah Mayor Van Johnson. The Georgia State Patrol and veteran groups showed their respect with American flags and a motorcycle procession.

Breonna Moffett went to Windsor Forest high school, where she was a leader. She was the drum major of the marching band and a member of the JROTC program. Her friend Jonathan Lee said she always encouraged him to speak up in class and be more confident. Her mother, Francine Moffett, shared a memory of Breonna Moffett taking care of her younger sibling when she was very young, showing she was always strong-willed and caring.

Brig. Gen Palmer spoke about how Breonna Moffett balanced her military duties with her family and faith. ‘She was an example to us all,’ he said. Sgt.1st Class Kevin Gupton, who recruited Breonna Moffett, was very proud of her. ‘She was a natural leader even before she joined the Army,’ he said.

Breonna Moffett died while serving her country. The details of her death were not mentioned, but it is clear she was dedicated to her service and made a great impact on those around her.
